Company > Clients > Web Application for Managing Volunteer Business Processes

San Francisco Department of Public Health was looking to automate and streamline its business processes for managing volunteers, managing their ongoing training, scheduling their visits, gathering work statistics, authorizing review of their work by managers and problem resolution.

We developed an internal web application with a central database and an easy to use interface that addressed all of their needs. We met all system requirements including high security due to the sensitive nature of the data.

The main features of the application were:

  • Use of open source technologies including PHP, MySQL, Ajax and jQuery to create a Web 2.0 application with user friendly features
  • A Content Management System (CMS) which allows customization and personalization of pages based on user preferences and administration settings.
  • Powerful security management with ability to create different user roles and setup different content access permissions based on roles and user requirements.
  • Concurrent data entry by a large number of different users.
  • User specific, personalized dashboard which provides an overview of all user activity in one place with appropriate links to associatedd sections and summary reports/charts
  • Automatic alerts on pending training.
  • Ability to send and receive messages and announcements to other users.
  • Ability to schedule visits and upload interaction data to the server.
  • Dynamic generation of graphs and charts based on data collected and imported from external systems
  • Ability to get support and issues resolved from supervisors.
